Feeding:

The great blue heron fishes in both night and day, with most of its activity around dawn and dusk.

The great blue heron's diet consists of fish, frogs, salamanders, lizards, snakes, shrimps, crabs, crayfish, dragonflies, grasshoppers, and many aquatic insects.
