Slash pine : Pinus elliottii

Pulpwood, lumber and naval stores.

This is one of the most commonly planted conifers in north Florida.

The wood is used in construction, and in making paper.

Slash pine plantations can be harvested roughly every 25 years.

Notes :

Slash pine is a fast growing tree and is widely planted in the southeastern United States on tree farms.

In colder climates slash pine is damaged by cold conditions.

Outside the United States this pine is widely planted in warm and subtropical climates.
