Due Dates

The following due dates are to be strictly observed. It is important to stay on top of the assignments!

Exercise 1 is due Monday, January 14, 2002.

Exercise 2 is due Monday, January 28, 2002.

Exercise 3 is due Monday, February 4, 2001.

Exercise 4 and your project topic are due Monday February 11, 2002. You must have your project topic approved by your instructor by Monday, February 25, 2002.

Exercise 5 is due Monday, March 4, 2002.

Exercise 6 is due Monday, March 11, 2002.

Exercise 7 is due Monday, March 25, 2002.

The Course Project is due Monday, April 8, 2002.

The final exam is due Monday, April 29, 2002.

ALL COURSE MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY April 29, 2002.

General Course Instructions

Please begin by reading the Syllabus and the Course Project pages. You may then progress to the lessons. Please complete the chapters and assignments sequentially, beginning with Lesson 1, since each of the lessons expands on information provided in previous lessons. An exercise follows the reading material for each lesson. Follow the exercise instructions carefully. You can submit the lessons as an attachment to an email or pasted into an email to the instructor.
Identify each answer by number. Indicate your name and the lesson number as the subject of the message. Please answer all of the questions in one document. DO NOT MAIL EACH QUESTION SEPARATELY, or you will not be given credit for that lesson.

Each exercise should be sent to your instructor as soon as you complete it. It is essential to print or save a copy of your answers for your files. Your instructor will confirm receipt of exercises with an e-mail message. If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt within 2-3 days, e-mail or call the instructor to confirm receipt. When answers require a URL, make sure you type the URL correctly. If the URL is incorrect, you will lose points. For long URLs, it's a good idea to copy & paste the address into the text box. See item #11 in the Course Conditions for instructions.

Work at your own pace but don't wait until the last minute. Lesson 4 takes some time to complete, as does the project.
Exercises which are submitted late will be result in a deduction of one point per day. Assignments which are two days late will be penalized 2 points, those which are five days late will result in a 5 point loss, etc.
