The purpose of this lab is to force you to examine a chemical drawing program and a 3 dimensional modeling program.  Your book comes with a pair of plugins from Cambridgesoft under the name "Chemoffice 6.0" with Chemdraw 6.0 Plugin Net and Chem3D 6.0 Plugin Net. These programs are terrible, mostly because the  Cambridgesoft company wants to entice you to buy their real products.  You can buy a functioning package, chemoffice LTD from their web side with a student discount for $49.  You can also download a 2 week trial package of their best program for free.  (It is a long download.)

An alternative to the chemdraw package is MIDI's ISISdraw with the display program CHIME.  The complete drawing program is FREE and it is what I use to write your tests.  I draw the structures in ISISdraw and then paste them into MSword.
